Illinois Cottage Food Online Terms & Conditions 

• Required Disclaimer: These products are produced in a home kitchen not inspected by a health department that may also process common food allergens. If you have safety concerns, contact your local health department. Registration #FA0010217 DuPage County Illinois
• Sales Policy: All items are produced under the Illinois Cottage Food Law. Sales are allowed only in Illinois for personal consumption only and may not be resold. Absolutely no sales across state lines. 
• Liability Waiver: By purchasing, the consumer acknowledges the home-based nature of the food production and agrees to assume all risks associated with consumption, including but not limited to providing proper refrigeration and consuming within timeframe.  See Are you Storing Food Safely?  U.S. FDA 
• Shipping/Pickup: Products are NOT available for shipping, and are available for local pickup in Bloomingdale Illinois only.  
• Delivery Restrictions: Orders over $150, free delivery is available within a 30 minute drive from Bloomingdale.   Products will be delivered personally by the owner, a family member, or an employee. We do not use third-party delivery services or distributors.
• Ingredients & Allergen Info: Detailed ingredient lists are provided with each product. Allergens (wheat, eggs, milk, soy, nuts, fish, shellfish, sesame) are clearly listed.
• Refrigeration: Some products may require refrigeration and are local pickup only.
• Payment & Returns: Pre-payment is required for all orders. Due to the nature of custom food products, returns are not accepted. Refunds will not be provided.

Illinois Essential Compliance:

• Registration: Must have a valid local health department registration certificate.  Grizzled Goat is Registered with DuPage County Registration #FA0010217  
• Labeling: Every item must have a label with:
  • Name of product.
  • Name/email address of business.
  • Ingredients.
  • Allergen Notice, if applicable.
  • The “Home Kitchen” disclaimer.
• Prohibited Items: No alcohol can be sold (except extracts), no raw dairy, no meat products, no cut tomatoes, no cheesecake, no pumpkin pie, no kombucha.
• Acidified Foods: Cottage law sales require a Food Safety Plan and pH testing for items like salsa or pickled goods.  Grizzled Goat products have been tested and are compliant to meet Acidified Food Requirements. 

Product Availability:  Please note that most products are made to order and due to the nature of the ingredients or processing times, may not be available for immediate pickup.  For example, sourdough is a live yeast culture that often takes 48 or more hours to be ready for baking.  

Our items are made to order using fresh, quality ingredients.

• Baked goods are typically ready within 2–3 days
• Sourdough goods are typically ready in 3-4 days
• Pickled items require 12–14 days to allow preparation, proper brining and flavor development

We do our best to increase availability when demand is high, but preparation times help us ensure the quality and flavor you expect.  While we work to keep popular items in stock, some products require additional preparation time to maintain quality. Pickup details will be provided once your order is ready. Thank you for supporting small-batch, handcrafted food!  

Our Promise:  We use quality ingredients when in-season and will do our best to maintain a steady inventory of brined and canned items.

Return and Refund Policy
